US Generals: Yes-Man to the President.. Do generals/armed forces do whatever the president says Yes to do?

Under the law the Armed Forces are suppose to follow the orders of the President. Congress though can veto a Presidents decesion to send troops somewhere. If a General doesnt listen to a President then he would probably fired and someone willing to listen would be hired. The start of the Cold War is a very good example of a General going againts a President. If you google President Truman vs General McArthur you will see a clash between the two. McArthur would ignore orders from Truman and publicly slander him.
